The work of Credenda Press is governed by a doctrinal statement. Our confession is in complete agreement with the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed, as well as with the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort.
King James Version
In these confessional writings, the church expresses what it believes on the basis of the Bible, which is the infallible and inspired Word of God. We wish to adhere unconditionally to the King James Version of the Bible as the most reliable translation of the Bible.
Besides this we wish to adhere to these statements:
a) The divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture, as originally given and its sole authority in all matters of faith and conduct and in all matters relating to the government and worship of the visible church.
b) The unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.
c) The universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the Fall, rendering man incapable of obedience either to the law or to the Gospel and subjecting him to the just wrath of God.
d) The election to eternal life of a multitude of persons without regard to their works, will or faith foreseen to the praise of the glory of His grace.
e) The Covenant of Redemption in which Christ undertook from eternity to deliver perfectly all those whom the Father gave Him (the elect) from the pollution, guilt, and power of sin by sustaining the office of Prophet, Priest and King.
f) The substitutionary death of Jesus Christ as a propitiatory sacrifice which infallibly secures all the benefits of salvation for those whom He represented in His death and resurrection.
g) The irresistible efficacy of the work of the Spirit in regenerating the elect and in enabling them to repent and believe the Gospel.
h) The justification of the sinner by faith alone whereby the righteousness of Christ is imputed once and forever by God to the believer.
i) The immortality of the soul, the resurrection of the body, the personal return of Jesus Christ to judge the world with the eternal blessedness of the righteous and the eternal punishment of the wicked.
