About Us
Credenda Press is a fledgling publishing company founded in 2025 at home in the Fraser Valley of BC, Canada. We strive to acknowledge the God given order for life, family and work and therefore work to publish new materials as time allows.
Our mission is to steward trustworthy literature for the Reformed community, offering books that nourish faith, strengthen families and speak to the deeper questions of the heart. We work with intention — translating, editing and preparing each title with clarity, reverence and a deep sense of responsibility.
We speak to readers who long for books they can trust — individuals, families and small bookstores seeking literature that is grounded and true. They value depth over noise and are searching for souls’ nourishment. They choose Credenda because they want literature handled with deep care & respect.
The name
Credenda means doctrines to be believed: articles of faith. It comes from the root word Credere, meaning, to believe. This name is reflective of our desire to publish materials that have content that
speaks to the deeper meaning of life.

At the center of a diamond shaped pillow form with custom edges is a single "C". Around it, open-book shapes overlap, suggesting the way in which reading influences our lives, one page at a time; one book at a time.
our approach to editing
The editing style employed in our books is largely the style of the original editions. The wording, sentence structure and most spellings are the same as the original book. Nineteenth century writers used hyphenation and commas extensively and some of those are removed to improve readability but never to change the intent of the author. The editing done corrects typos and updates some words. An example of a word change is "to-day" to "today". Where more editing is necessary there will be transparency about the changes made and the reason for so doing. We adhere strictly to the use of the KJV for all our books.
Our approach to translating
We translate with formal equivalence. This means that we translate “As literally as possible, as freely as necessary”. Every word counts. Translating word for word accurately is important because it preserves the original author’s intent, nuance, and meaning, especially in texts where precise wording carries theological or literary significance. We should be able to explain why a word is dropped or added. We do not assume the role of interpreter or editor unless specifically required by translation problems, such as idioms or grammatical errors. Our translations aim to be free from interference of a translator’s bias which could shift the message or distort subtle connections within the text. Translating is never a work done by one person. There must always be cross checking by other translators with strong language skills for accuracy and flow as well as editing to ensure faithfulness to the original work.
